How to buy
Methods of Participation
To participate in an auction, you may choose from several methods:
- In the room: advance registration is required at the entrance and collection of a paddle before the auction begins. The paddle must be raised to signal the auctioneer each time you wish to place a bid.
- Kruso Art Live: our online bidding platform for live auctions allows you to follow the auction and place bids in real time from your computer or mobile device, wherever you are in the world. You must log in to your account and register on the auction page, then click “Join the Auction” at the start of the session to enter the online auction room and place bids.
- Telephone bids: upon request, you may participate in the auction via telephone connection. A representative of the auction house will contact you directly from the room and submit bids on your behalf. Should it not be possible to establish contact during the auction, the written bid previously authorized will be executed. To request this service, you must complete the appropriate bid form or register through krusoart.com.
- Written bid: should you be unable to attend the auction, you are permitted to submit an advance written bid. The auctioneer will act on your behalf for the indicated lot, seeking to secure the purchase at the most favorable price, provided the bid exceeds the reserve price. Written bids take priority over bids of equal amount submitted in the room or by telephone. To submit a written bid, you must complete the bid form or log in to your account, locate the lot of interest, click “Place a Bid,” and enter the maximum amount on krusoart.com.
- Online: upon registration on the krusoart.com platform, on the KrusoK Aste App, or through authorized third-party platforms.
- Online-Only: Online-Only auctions are conducted exclusively via the web and do not include a pre-sale exhibition of the lots. Interested parties may nevertheless request to view the lots and obtain Condition Reports by contacting the relevant department. To participate in the auctions, it is necessary to create a personal account on the krusoart.com portal, providing all required information and documents; failure to do so will result in denial of registration. If a bid or counter-bid is registered by Kruso Art’s systems within the minute preceding the scheduled closing time for a lot, the closing of the bidding for that lot will be automatically extended by an additional two minutes from the time the last bid or counter-bid was registered. The extension may be repeated each time a new counter-bid is validly registered within the minute preceding the lot’s closing time, as extended from time to time. In any case, unless otherwise indicated on the Site, the total duration of extensions for the same lot may not exceed a maximum limit of two hours from the originally scheduled closing time for that lot. The extension of a lot’s closing time applies exclusively to that lot and does not entail the extension of the closing times of other lots in the same Online-Only Auction. The bidder who has placed the winning bid at the end of the lot’s auction will receive a confirmation email of the award.
Exhibition and Condition Reports
Before each auction, a public exhibition is held to view the works in person. You may request a Condition Report prepared by our experts for lots with a minimum estimate exceeding €500.
